The King of the Jungle - Lion

July 22, 2011

It’s been a long time since I’ve had this question in mind. Why does Apple (MAC) has been using the cat family for the OS of their computers? They have the Leopard OS, Tiger, Snow Leopard. My question has not been answered yet. But as I browsed yahoo page this morning, I saw a huge image of a Lion’s head and my first thought was : Hmmm…? what’s this… a new movie about a Lion or what…?

So I scrutinized this article on yahoo page and found out that this huge image of a Lion is the latest OS from MAC. Not only the latest but powerful. The lion is the king of the jungle as we all know and it really is the trending about MAC’s OS as how they give their operating systems its character - strong and powerful. From Snow Leopard, Leopard, Tiger and now Lion. (just mentioning the OS names not according to their releases of which was released first)

According to the article, this was released wednesday (when was that…?), it says that Lion is the best OS X yet from MAC. It also states that it has a faster processor (even the Leopard OS is already fast, isn’t it?), I haven’t used MAC though but I am very well informed that once you go MAC you never go back!

Well that’s another amazing creation from MAC that we can keep an eye on - on how powerful and amazing this OS can be!!

(The blogger is not affiliated, in any way with MAC (Apple) nor with Yahoo.)

INSIDIOUS 2011 movie

May 8, 2011

Watched the movie Insidious yesterday afternoon. It’s a horror film. I’ll share my own short summary and few opinions about the movie. This is about a family whose eldest son - Dalton, is in a comatose but doctors cannot explain the reason behind this. Dalton is unaware that he is capable of Astral Projection, which he got from his dad, Josh. Astral Projection or travel, an out-of-body experience; the soul leaves the physical body and journeys into higher realms; sometimes, associated with sleep, dreams, sleep paralysis or during meditation. But Dalton is not in a comatose. He’s still out there in other realms, lost his way back home and chained in a strange place by the evil entity who wants his body.

The family just moved in to a really big house. They were still on the stage of unpacking stuff. Renai, their mom is starting to experience strange things around their new house.

I was frightened with the scene where Dalton’s mom is trying to finish her music sheets and she has the baby monitor on top of her piano. Renai stopped playing when she heard strange voices from the baby monitor. She turned up the volume and listened to it closely. The voice says that it is trying to get something from the baby where it transitioned from whisper to yelling. Renai was shocked upon hearing the loud voice and the baby crying and dropped her baby monitor and ran to Cali’s room but she found nobody.

The family then moved in again to another house. Another frightening scene was when Josh’s mom explains the initial experience of his wife Renai. Josh’s mom said that she dreamt about their house and Dalton being ill. She said she saw a scary silhouette on the corner of Dalton’s room and she asked what it wants from them. It pointed Dalton - meaning he wants Dalton.

The picture below is the scene where Josh’s mother confirms what his wife Renai sees, hears and experience inside the house. The demon who wants Dalton’s body is behind Dalton’s dad. At first, I got scared with the scene but thinking about it, I thought . . . was that Darth Vader back there….? The demon in the scene looked like Darth Vader from Star Wars without the hooded cape and the light saber.

Aside from the Darth Vader look alike, there were scenes from the movie where I find it funny. There were these people whose smiles were like those of the clowns or weird white-faced dolls. In the scene, they were not moving, they were just sitting on the couch. They are dressed up like people from the 70’s. They are additional characters to represent souls who still wants to live and get back to earth.

One more scary scene was when Josh was able to find Dalton and they were trying to escape from the demon. The demon has horrible yellow eyes and he was chasing Dalton and crawling on the wall. When they reached home and got back to their respective bodies, it’s not the end yet. Where is Josh?

Watch the movie and find out.

The Fight Between Two Wolves

March 17, 2011

An old man shared a story to his grandson….

There were two wolves, one is evil, he represents anger and hatred. The other wolf is good, he represents love, empathy and compassion. The grandfather said to his grandson, “This same fight that’s goin’ on inside me also happens in every person including you…”

The grandson then asked, “Which wolf will win, grandpa..?” The old man replied. . . “IT’S THE ONE THAT YOU ALWAYS FEED…”

update

August 29, 2009

I have been very busy these past few days. I am sorry for some readers of my blog (if there’s any). Keep reading and thank you! I just wish that you guys are learning even a few things from my health topic posts. I hope to have more time soon. I’m gonna be more busy with my job but I am expecting to find time to update this blog. I don’t want it to be abandoned just like my previous blog. Thanks to my friend GSMdiag for helping me fix a few errors with my stupid computer - I am not yet done with the given solution though (sorry ’bout that). HI to Jukie  - how are you doin’?

Anyways, that’s it for now. I am very sleepy at this moment and very tired. I remembered yesterday that I am gonna write something but as of now, I can’t remember it - damn. I have a few important things to attend to and I want to take a rest. I’m expecting that I won’t be having a proper rest the coming days. So help me God.

Thank you God for loving me. I love you! :-)

I had a dream…

August 15, 2009

I used to give some of my few extras to the less fortunate people…I help people the little best way I can because I like doing it…I had a dream the other night… Aling Neri, which is just one of the few people I help appeared in my dream looking differently the way she does in real life… Aling Neri was once a drug addict and thanks to God she decided to change her life - now she’s a garbage lady and comes to my house for trash and some of my old stuff that she can trade for cash - if I have cooked food, I feed her at my house or sometimes, she takes the food to her kids… going back to my dream, Aling Neri’s face turned to a face of a chinese woman with very white face and very chinese eyes - in real life she has round eyes, dark skin and the smell of trash… and then there was this boy, maybe he was about 14 years old living with two old ladies - my granny sent them a can of milk and a bag of rice, and I told her that the rice and milk are from my granny (my granny sometimes reaches out too to those less fortunate). I don’t know the old woman whom I took the bag of rice and can of milk to - all I know is I delivered the rice and milk to them - and she warned me - “My child, it’s very nice of you to think of other people’s welfare, but be careful for maybe sooner, you might lose it all…”

I’ve been noting what my dreams could mean…I have studied my everyday life and most of the time my dreams are connected with my life, what happens in my life… Just like the time when I let 3 people live on my house with no money and no shelter - then when I’ve busted their attitudes, they accused me of being so mean and so I sent them away, I dreamt of a dog that I found on the street, I took it home, I fed it and gave it a shelter but then it bit me… I know the saying “Never Bite the Hands that Feed You” - it’s just what my dream told me…  They were just the stray dogs I found on the street… No food, no money, no shelter…

I know how to interpret some of my dreams, but I really wanna know what exactly do they mean…On some dreams that I don’t know what could be a brief meaning, I hope there’s some one out there who can help me interpret them….

Lost Tapes:Devil Dragon

August 5, 2009

My tito works at the Phil. Aerospace Dev’t Corp. located in Pasay, way back 1994 or 1995, my uncle brought home a reptile pet. A monitor lizard (Bayawak as it is called in the Filipino language) about five or six months old, I cannot remember how many months that reptile was but as far as I can remember he’s only a few months old. Uncle said an 11-year old boy caught it and sold it to him for P700.

We named him Og-Og. He was only a yard long and about 15 centimeters wide when he was brought home. He has a head similar to a snake, only that its snout is a bit pointed. It can coil its tail and use it as a weapon for self-defense. Brownish and black in color with bright yellow tummy, yellow and white tiny spots on his tail area. It has sharp, long and black claws. It also hisses just like a snake. We feed him chicken heads, chicken feet, rodent and kittens. After 3 more months, he obviously grew 6 centimeters more. He no longer fits in his cage. The cage is made of gauge wire about 1.75mm, just like the one used for bird cages. His urine and manure has very strong acid content. He was able to escape from his cage twice because it was destroyed by the corrosion from the strong acid content in his urine and manure. We are shocked to see him roam on the basement of our house. We placed a plywood in order to cover the doorway so that he will stay in one area. A neighbor made up a catching equipment like the one used to catch stray dogs and we borrowed a spotlight. My uncles joined forces to carefully catch Og-Og and was successfully put in his new metal cage. He needs a new cage since he’s growing bigger and his size is about 30 to 35 centimeters wide and about 6 feet long. His new metal cage has 2-inch holes all over it. This is often used as fences or dividers in some of the houses and yards in Manila.

One night, my lolo was a bit drunk and carefully touched Og-Og’s snout. He said it was silent for a few seconds and all of a sudden bit his thumb. He is startled so he pulled his thumb. He didn’t know that its teeth is pointing inward. So when he pulled out his thumb, blood spurted and a bit of flesh showed. His thumb nail is damaged too and as it healed, it formed a mounted line from the cuticle to the tip. Its teeth’s sharp edges point inward, so if you are bitten, NEVER PULL YOUR FINGER, since his sharp tiny teeth points inward, if you pull your hand or finger, you will just get a deep wound and that would be the tastiest treat for them.

Until one day, a fellow brought back to our home Og-Og dragging it by its tail. He said the reptile reached the town plaza and when he saw the vehicles, it got scared and hid under the jeepneys, causing traffic. Our house is 3-4 blocks away from the town plaza. The fellow said there are already people who were interested in taking the reptile only that they do not know how to capture it and were frightened by its appearance and size but he clarified that he know the owner of the huge reptile. He was brave enough to drag the large reptile by its tail back to our house. Og-Og was no longer returned in his cage. He was tied and hung - throat cut open, bleeding. He was slaughtered as punishment for the third time he escaped. They peeled off its skin and I can see its muscles are still moving. It has a bit foul stench. They kept some of its skin for some lore said reptile skins are a lucky charm, dunno if its true. They chopped his body parts and cooked well its meat. Even when in the process of cooking, its meat is somehow still moving, beating.

Maybe that’s why he behaved when he was dragged by the fellow who brought him back to us. The fellow said that the reptile was actually tamed when he was dragging it. Maybe he felt he’s gonna be in big trouble. The photos were unfortunately taken to our province, I will ask my lolo to bring the photos in Manila so I could scan them and show it here. He kept the photos of Og-Og as remembrance for the big reptile we had…

Last night on Discovery Channel, Lost Tapes: Devil Dragon. The Devil Dragon, also known as Megalania is described as a huge reptile which is believed to be lurking along the rainforests of Australia. Feeds on flesh and stalks its victim once it has bitten its prey till it weakens. Its saliva is deadly as it contains infectious bacteria that causes Sepsis. Bigger than the deadly Komodo Dragon, which is about 8 to 10 feet long, the Megalania measures about 25 feet long.

Year 2007, Tim Akron, a survivalist, filmed his unfortunate expedition through one of the rainforests of Australia. As a survivor, he did not bring his food, crew and a satellite phone with him. How about in case of emergency where he is in a remote island? While walking, he stumbled upon a pile of human bones. He should have went away upon seeing those human bones. He was starting to gather big leaves to put up his temporary shelter, until his camera was knocked down. If I’m not mistaken, what knocked his camera down is the creature that’s been following him and some parts of the creature were captured by the camera as it passed by. He is supposed to demonstrate an entrapment of some burrowing animals for food. Unluckily, he made a wrong move when he used his bare hands putting some thing in that place that he doesn’t have an idea what’s down there. Then he was bitten by an unseen creature on his forearm. He was wounded. He felt it is going to rain later so he tried to prepare for the night by making a bonfire before he would gather his food. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make a fire and he is getting tired. His wound starts infection.

It was already dark and raining. He is under a couple of large leaves that served as his roof for that dark, rainy night. While filming, he heard movements and sound of a mixed snarl and hiss behind him as he shouted that it stay away. Next morning, his wound’s infection has spread through his shoulder and has infected his veins as they changed into a dark color. He said the place is humid that he sweats a lot. Is it because of the infection from his wound or is it because rainforests are humid places? He decided to leave the place. He run to seek medical help from a nearby village. As his wound gets further infection and from tiredness, you can see how much his appearance has changed from the first day he stepped into that rainforest. Running for medical help, Tim is obviously lost and can’t find his way out. It’s night again and he is still in the dark rainforest, trying to run for his life. The sound of the snarling-hiss are heard again with fast movements just behind him. It is getting scary as he run away and as the sound and movements follow him. Tim stopped and took a few seconds of rest, leaving his loved ones his last words the moment he felt he is gonna die any moment. As the unidentified creature follows Tim, he ran as fast as he could but Tim could not help tripping; he is tired, hasn’t eaten since his first day and has a badly infected wound. The creature took advantage of Tim’s weakness and dragged him away and started to feast on his flesh…

SEPSIS - blood infection; can be deadly; initially attacks the heart and lungs, affecting the brain that causes confusion and hallucinations.

Herbal Enemy No.1

August 4, 2009

It’s not surprising how many people are using Mainstream Medicine since pharmacologists turned to Science for the development of medicines that could bring fast relief to common ailments such as colds, cough, flu & headaches.

With the help of chemicals and clinical studies of pharmacologists, Mainstream medicine was born. Artificial medicine showed a great response from the consumers after it had been commercially introduced to the public. And with the growth in the rate of its buyers, more pharmacologists developed and contributed more of these artificial medicines to some chronic ailments like heart disease, arthritis, hypertension, diabetes & more. The fact that mainstream medicine is making its scene, Herbal Medicine virtually fell on the pavement. It did not actually disappear, but unfortunately was foiled – all because of power and influence.

Herbal Treatment/Medication is used since different medicinal plants were discovered to help cure common ailments and long before mainstream medicine came into the scene and made its name. Herbal medications are proven to be safe and effective since it is the first to have clinical and laboratory studies, thus, it is all-natural that it has no side effects. Side effects are known as dizziness or headaches after taking a certain (chemical-based) drug. But unlike any herbal treatment or medication, they’re botanical or organic, like I said earlier, all-natural, chemical-free so absolutely no known side effects. Herbal medicines as well give way to our body’s natural healing process.

lesson

A ship sank into the sea and left a sailor stranded on an island. He prayed and waited but no rescuers came. On that island, the sailor built his shelter and stored food in it. One dark day, a lightning struck his nipa and burned his house down with all the food he gathered. He broke down in tears and said “Lord, why have you done this to me?”. He stopped crying when he heard the engine of a rescue boat coming near. When the rescue captain approached him, he asked the captain “How did you know I am here?” the rescue captain said “We saw a smoke signal.”

Trust Him when misfortune happens. His plans are always greater than ours. For when you keep the Lord in your heart, there is nothing to fear about in your life. things will come as the Lord has planned…

Discovery Channel - Lost Tapes: Monster of Monterey

July 29, 2009

Watched again Discovery Channel’s Lost Tapes. Last night’s story was about a 26-year old journalist, Sharon Novak, lost in her expedition through the bay of Monterey.

I’ve seen the 30-minute video. It’s about a sea monster or a marine dinosaur (Plesiosaur) still under water. Sailing Monterey Bay, Sharon Novak had 4 video cams attached on her boat and one video cam attached with her to make video records of her sailing. While sailing, she heard an emergency call from her radio “mayday! mayday! …” too bad I didn’t clearly heard that but as what I’ve heard from the emergency call, the caller said “this is an emergency, there is something in the water …”. Sharon asked for the caller’s location and she wrote it in a paper. She called for help but no one answered her. Since there’s no answer from the station, it’s gonna be her responsibility to attend to the emergency call as coast guard. Upon approaching the location of the caller, she had her camera ready. While approaching the boat, there was no one in it, but the boat’s motor is still running. She was shocked to see that the boat has blood stains on the sides of it. She did not checked the bloody boat and decided to leave for her own safety. While preparing her sails, the rollers got stucked and as she attempted to fix it, something tipped the boat and knocked her down into the water. With her camera, it is obvious that she is struggling to climb back to the boat. So she tried swimming to the front of the boat but she was only getting farther from it. The harder she tries to swim back to the boat, the scarier it is to see her getting far away from her boat…

On my opinion, whatever pulled her down to the abyss, it’s not a shark. Sharks go wild instantly upon seeing or catching their prey. You can actually see it if it’s a shark. But if you review the video, look closely on the lower left corner of the screen and you will see the silhouette of a long-necked creature twice, like it’s slowly going around her…

Watch the cut from the video click here

Did she just swam away and was just faking?…. or was she really pulled down into the abyss?….

Feeding Program

July 26, 2009

Just the other day I was at 7-11 when a street kid asked for money. I wasn’t bothered but I felt pity for the kid. I bought him a cup noodles and asked him where his parents are. He said his mother is in prison and his father is at home and has been sick for how long, I don’t know.

My mother don’t usually do charity works. After going to the grocery, we dropped by the drug store to buy some vitamins and there were kids begging for money, (this was way back 90s - I was still a kid), she asked me to give some of my food to the street kids. Well I did give my food and since then, I give food to whoever street kid I see, that is if I have enough money. I guess this is why I got into charity but not a fully volunteer for charity because I don’t have that much money. Even when I was working, I am “sort of” taking care of an old lady in our office. She’s a friend of our boss. She visits the office almost every day, borrowing money to buy her food and medicines. At times I treat her to lunch or a snack. Too bad I don’t know where she is now.

We have a neighbor with 6 kids, both parents are unemployed but the father works part time (irregular) as a carpenter and gets paid at P250. Only three out of the six kids go to school. On some days, they both can go and sometimes one can’t go and the other kid can go to school. Man, it’s just like an odd-even scheme. One of the kids always asks for the garbage to be dumped, then I would give P5 for taking out the trash. Their youngest kid always runs to my granny’s to ask for food. Most of the time we see the youngest kid, running after their father, arched back with his hand on his starving tummy, asking for money to buy food, but no luck.  When I go to the market, I would bring with me one of the kids, and feed him/her to help me carry the bags or by just simply accompanying me to the market. Most of the time I give them some of the excess food we have.

So, I thought of putting up a feeding program. I want it to be a simple feeding program; not publicly done, but surely can help feed even a few kids.. In a few days, I will post their pictures here and add a few details.

Discovery Channel - Lost Tapes: SKINWALKER

July 22, 2009

Late last night, husband and I watched Discovery Channel’s Lost Tapes. This is a guy’s (sorry forgot his name..) video of their ranch and was suppose to be a video for her girlfriend. The guy is asked by his father to accompany him to the hills. They keep some of their newborn lamb, sheep or goat up the hills to keep it safe from wolf attacks. But the newborn weren’t safe from harm.

Last night’s video file was about a creature called “Skinwalker”. It is a human that could transform into different animal it desires. Most of the time, it commonly transforms into a werewolf.

I thought only the Philippines have such creatures or beasts that can transform or shift shape into any animal they desire. Here in the Philippines, we have these creatures or “aswang” that could transform into any animal they want. A big pig, big black dog and can even mimic voices of people close to us, like family relatives. Victims of “aswangs” are everybody especially pregnant women.

The video file is creepy! First, aboard their truck on their way to the hills to visit the goats and sheeps they keep there, the father and son passed by an old lady and she was kinda growling. It can be ignored maybe she just doesn’t want to be looked at. Then when they were up the hill, and has surprisingly seen that the newborn goat is missing, they saw the old lady again, wires of the cage have been opened, there were paw prints that turned into human foot print with long nails that marked the soil, then they suddenly heard the voice of her mom calling them! They thought she was calling through the radio, but when they ran to the truck and checked, the damn radio is off! Then they heard a growl and the cry of a baby goat or baby sheep. It is starting to get dark as they try to analyze what could possibly happened. They got worried about his mom and they drove back to their house. While driving, they saw the old lady slowly crossing the road, but since they were shocked, they accidentally bumped the walking image. They immediately got off the truck and saw no one but the missing goat and a thick furry blanket…

Share-A-Load, Nakaw-A-Load

Uhm… been busy for quite some time.. but anyway, here’s something for you to take note of…

My elder sister texted me last week and asked me to call Globe’s Customer Service for her Globe Handy Phone’s lost prepaid load. She never reloaded her prepaid account for quite awhile due to frequent sudden loss of her prepaid credits. Even I experience the same loss and sometime never reload my account due to such case. So, I did call Globe’s CS thru my Globelines phone, gave my sister’s number and informed them of the loss prepaid credits, then I was informed  that they will be calling my sister within 24 hours. The following day, my sister texted me that nobody called her..

There are times that when you use their services (Globe, Smart or Sun), some information texts are not sent nor received, some times delay due to air traffic and some times it’s real-time sending. You buy load credits but you don’t get an information message but you have the credits on your account. On some cases, the load credit seller didn’t receive information message that they loaded an account but the customer received the credits bought. I have forgotten to inform my sister of a common scam. It’s the unknown Share-A-Load service. Means, you weren’t aware that you shared a load to someone. It’s an illegal sharing of your prepaid credits to someone you don’t know, without you knowing it, without your permission. Other people have experienced this sudden loss; he/she just loss more than a hundred pesos and had known it upon receiving a text info that he/she had just shared a load to someone unfamiliar. The fact that he/she really did not shared someone his/her prepaid credits because no one even asked him/her for it. Well, this maybe another case of Nakaw-A-Load. Such common cases of loss prepaid credits, you seldom use your prepaid credits saving them for important/emergency calls or messages but little do we know the more we want to save on our prepaid credits, the more it is loss or STOLEN.

Telecom companies complain about their profit loss and that they have to imply their projected income/profit margin. But subscribers can see how luxurious their establishments are! How much loss could you have with over a million subscribers? With all the info text services, tie-up partnerships and the common subscribers you would still claim for great loss?

Most of the time, my internet connection is not working or system is down. I have a Globelines phone and internet connection and am a Globe prepaid subscriber too. Is this how they reward loyal subscribers, regardless of the short comings I am aware of? But whatsoever, why on earth Globe CS never responses to queries and complain? They never give clear explanations why is this so, why is that, and so on, blah blah blah… They just leave you unsatisfied no matter how much you patronize their service.

Some things possible huh?

Mouse Trap

July 16, 2009

My mouse trap. Ever since I placed it on the floor, a mouse runs inside this device to hide. It already trapped 3 mice. Whenever a mouse would hide inside this “trap”, hubby would carefully and quickly close the covers and lock himself up in the bathroom along with the “trap” and the trapped mouse. He then would open the covers and tilt the “trap” to set the mouse free straight into the toilet bowl. Hits it with a small hammer or metal rod, or he simply drowns it in the water.

Now it won’t print!

Bio-Magnets

This is my Bio-Magnetic jewelry (right photo). This bracelet has magnets (left photo) with 3,000 Gauss strength. I developed sleeping disorder after giving birth to my youngest son. Most of the time I’m having a hard time falling asleep. My husband introduced this Bio-Magnetic jewelry and upon wearing this bracelet, the moment I laid my back on the bed, I immediately fell asleep just like before.

Magnets produce energy called Magnetic Field. All magnets have North and South Poles. The North and South Poles are properties of magnets called Polarity. Magnets’ power of attraction is strongest at its opposite ends which are the North and South Poles. As studied, same poles repel and opposite attract. Magnets’ strength are measured in units called Gauss “G”. Refrigerator magnets range from 35 Gauss to 200 Gauss; Treatment/Therapeutic Magnets are usually from 300G to 5,000G - these magnets are non-invasive and produces up to 200,000G.

Our body has its own natural healing process. But with all the toxins, free-radicals, radiation, pollution and other health hazards we encounter daily, our natural healing process could get weak too. The food we eat has pesticides and other chemical preservatives. Our daily lives are utilized by technology to make living easy - mobile phones, wireless devices, computer, microwave ovens, television, game consoles and music players, etc. - emit strong Radiations and EMF (Electromagnetic Fields). And the environment is obviously polluted too. Toxins, Free Radicals, Radiation, EMF, chemicals, pesticides, environment pollution and every day stress - these health hazards are the ones our body’s natural healing process works on - with all these hazards to manage and not being aware of our health, our natural healing process weakens and thus trigger many common illness which is usually followed by chronic diseases.

Magnets are used for health and therapy since 200 B.C. and 1,000 A.D. History shows that Aristotle spoke about therapeutic benefits of natural magnets that it helps relieve pain and in treatment of many illnesses. Even the Egyptian beauty Cleopatra used magnets and placed it in her forehead to maintain her beauty, wisdom & protection against illness.

Magnets help enhance the body’s natural healing process. It helps increase Oxygen to stabilize natural healing. Increasing Oxygen helps regulate blood flow and balance Ions in an around  the body. Increase in Oxygen results in Hormone growth, Melatonin production, anti-aging, stress reduction and deeper restorative sleep. It also helps increase energy.

Magnetic Therapy is an all-natural, non-toxic, non-invasive alternative medical treatment used worldwide. Note that Magnets are not recommended for people who use Pacemaker and pregnant women.

Photocatalyst

July 6, 2009

I replaced my ordinary CFL bulb with a Photocatalyst and Negative Ion Bulb. Photocatalyst and Negative ion bulb is more than just an ordinary energy saving compact fluorescent light CFL bulb. It has deodorizer, air purifier, sanitizer and invigorates while providing energy saving light. Well it is far brighter than any new CFL bulbs, like the one my granny just bought.

Photocatalyst is a matter or substance that forms activated oxygen when UV ray from sunlight strikes it. Thus, produces strong oxidation to eliminate bacteria/virus, odors and sterilize the environment - and it can last for years. It is stronger than chlorine solution for disinfecting purposes.

Negative Ion is the good negatively charged particle. Negative Ions are important when it comes to our health. Have you been to the forests and mountains or in a place with waterfalls? Places with natural, clean air. These are the places we feel very good and well relaxed, right? It is because Negative Ions are highly abundant in such places. But research says that lightning is one good generator of Negative Ions.

Rice and Carbs

July 4, 2009

Most of us eat with rice and for some other natives they eat with corn and/or potatoes. White rice is common in meals because it does not throw spices and other ingredients and makes very good filler, main source of energy but it is mostly empty calorie. There aren’t any real nutrients in rice. Rice is all starch, which turns into sugar in the body when digested, since most starchy foods are rapidly broken down into sugar. Carbs give us energy, and sometimes raise our blood sugar too much. Additionally, when some cooked starches, such as potatoes and rice, are cooked and cooled, a small percentage of the starch takes longer to digest. Some starches aren’t digested in the small intestine at all, but they go to the colon and broke down, where they may play a vital role in the health of the colon as well as the rest of the body. Some of the fibers and starches, which ferment in the colon, in other words, extra digested by bacterium there, (generate an essential type of fat useful for the body) which are difficult for the body to get hold of in any other way.

It is better to eat other wild grains and Brown Rice. Brown rice is really white rice with the bran left on (only the husk is removed). This means that more of the nutrients are preserved. The flavor, however, is slightly sharp and similar to wild rice. Some brown rice do have other layers removed, but have not been “polished” - polishing makes the rice white. Brown rice is a good source of manganese, and the minerals selenium and magnesium.

One processed food that seems to be digested more slowly is pasta. But it is better if we will eat those made from herb or specifically Spinach Pasta (green in color). These veggie-made pastas are a very good source of beta-carotene and lutein, two important cancer-fighting anti-oxidants. This leafy green vegetable is also loaded with folic acid, vitamin K, magnesium and manganese. Remember to cook it al-dente because it affects how glycemic your pasta can be.

When eating bread, prefer to buy wheat bread or the multi-grain bread. These have lots of fibers, which help clean the digestive system and regulate blood sugar. Eating foods that contain high amounts of fiber helps us let go some of those toxins accumulated in our intestines.

Maybe a lot of you have heard about trans-fat. Oh, that’s just one of those horrible ingredients on your food, (sometimes on breads) and horrible things it can cause to your body!

What Goes In

A lot of people always think… “As long as I look and feel healthy, I am healthy”. Well, better think again. You may look and feel healthy but have you tried observing yourself – on what you eat – what’s in it? How about your daily dose of the right vitamins and minerals – are they really making you healthier or they go with your urine, flushed into the toilet? Would you be happy if one day you wake up and alarming you that your days are counted?

Living way back from the past, everything is so simple. There were not so many pollutions and chemicals in those days. What causes these never-ending increases of deadly diseases that is inflicting such havoc on the body today? Why not take good care of our body and make it valuable more than your top of the line gadgets.

Here are a few facts that I wish could help you in some ways and start turning on a few changes.
FOOD. Our food gives us the energy we need for the day. It is also the source of numerous vitamins and minerals we need to stay healthy and might as well fill up in those deficiencies. But little do we know that some of them trigger many illnesses, diseases, deficiencies, behavioral and attitude disorders, and a lot more. But we have to really be careful on what are the contents and ingredients of our food, because not everything that gives us energy – makes us healthy. Based on my opinion, I like it better if I eat anything I like … just as long as I burn them up exercising.

When I was pregnant with my first son, an old cheerful man from the park asked me about my pregnancy. He asked if I eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, of course, I do, they’re my favorite. He advised me to eat fruits and veggies that have a few traces of fruit and veggie worms. (You know, the caterpillar like looking little guy that chomps on your fruits and leafy veggies.) Why? Simply because the fruit or veggie eaten by a worm doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals from the pesticides sprayed to them by the farmers. The worm won’t eat the fruit or veggie if it has pesticide chemicals in it. A clean looking, no trace of worm tomato bought from the market 2 months ago still looks fresh and so red. No fruit or veggie would last that long on the fridge even when placed on the freezer unless it has a chemical or pesticide to keep it fresh looking. I wonder, some of the fruits and veggies on the baskets of the markets and groceries, how long have they been there.

Has someone from the nutrition group enlightened you on how to eat fruits? Yes, how. Do you eat them, as the usual thing, after your meal just like a dessert? Or you eat them with your meal? I received an email containing this presentation on how to eat fruits. Many of us have heard people complaining that “every time I eat watermelons I burp” or “when I eat bananas, I feel like running to the toilet” etc., these would not occur if only you had eaten fruits on an empty stomach. Fruits are mixed with the other putrefying food that produces gas and hence bloat. Fruits should be taken on an empty stomach. If we eat fruits like that, it will serve a major role to detoxify our system supplying with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities. Let’s say first, you eat two slices of bread and after, a slice of fruit. As fruit digests faster than bread, the slice of fruit digests quickly & ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but the bread, which takes longer to digest, blocks its passages.

It is incorrectly presumed that some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic and will enhance acidity in the stomach. Researches however show that all fruits become alkaline in our body.

Don’t eat cooked fruits because you don’t get nutrients at all. You get to taste along with the sugars on it. Cooking fruits or heating fruit juices destroys and takes away the vitamins and nutrients.

Fiber is good for our digestive system. So gobble the pulp or the whole fruit better than just gulping the juice. When you need to drink fruit juice, drink only fresh juice; NOT those in cans, boxes or powdered. Don’t drink juice that has been heated up. Drink fruit juice, by mouthful but slowly, ‘cause we must let it be mixed with our saliva, for our saliva has enzymes that help break down some of the starch of the food and helps in fat digestion.

Cleanse and detoxify your body on a fruit fasting week. A mixed fruit salad without the condensed milk and creams would be great. Cheers! ;)

Love this game!

July 2, 2009

I was invited by my sister to check out a flash game website, y8 .. i know this website since 2008 but I only had time recently and remembered to put it here..

I tried playing with Zombie Burger .. and i had fun playing it..

Zombie Burger game is a simple role-playing game where you get to make quick snacks and sell it to zombies in your city! Mouse over to give them what they ordered. Snacks are Fried Eyes, fried Finger on a fresh flesh, fried Tongue on brain halves with crispy finger nails, bloody sauce and hot sauce! drinks served chilled are Energy Glop and fresh Blood. You have to do it quickly because if you can’t be quick and you keep zombies waitin’, they frown and leave! Remember not to burn your fingers, crispy nails or tongues because burned meats are dumped. and collect coins they leave on the counter for more customers!

Choose from a time challenge wherein you should be able to fry as many burgers as you can in two minutes or have a fast food trip within the zombie city. You should be able to give what the zombie orders for you to get paid well and reach the quota. It’s a funny game!

Girls’ Pony Tails or hair bands ?

nakalimutan ko na related pa rin mostly sa health itong blog ko aside from my blogger account. eto nga pala matagal na nakatago dito sa drive ko..

mga pony tail, pantali ng buhok or hair bands na ginagamit ng mga girls and SOME GUYS too wearing Long Hair.. others regularly use Sanrio rubber hair bands or Goody; ‘yung iba mga nabibili lang sa SM department store or sa mga ‘di mate-te-arts (maarte), sa bangketa as long as maayos ang pagkakagawa.. speaking of sa BANGKETA or side walk vendors lang nabibiling pantali ng buhok.. tingnan n’yo ‘to.. baka nakabili na kayo ng ganito.. or some already know about this and what’s this thing made of…

and now..

Nearest kin nasa Africa o Nigeria? Hellouer??.. Are you drugs??..

Syempre, to make it sound real, nag-effort pang dumaldal sa phone na tumawag ang hustler manloloko.

Bye Michael

June 26, 2009

“King of Pop” Michael Jackson dies at 50. - Yahoo news

Have a nice trip! :) :(

+++++++++

I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
and no message could have been any clever
if you wanna make the world a better place
take a look at yourself and then make a change …
-Man In The Mirror (Michael Joseph Jackson)

Seems unreal, the moon walker is gone. I still remember playing my favorite MJ songs on my MP3.. He left us with songs that touched many people’s lives and influenced many good artists. Some are trying to be like him, wanna be like him - but no matter what, Michael Jackson is always the King of Pop and no one can beat that. He was once a humanitarian. He donated millions to charity.

To those who keeps throwing bad words at MJ, please let us all be reminded that he is mortal and only human. Let’s not be judgmental. Every one of us has sinned and for as long as we live, we are given the chance to make a change. As said in the bible, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone …” from John 8:7. Well maybe he just suffered emotional torture when was a child that resulted his so-called “eccentric behavior” / attitudes for him to act differently. Instead, let us just look at what he had contributed to the music industry and a lot of people cherish the joy of the music he has shared with us. Just think about how he has thought of the people from Africa that suffers hunger and scarcity of water. As far as I know, MJ was the first pop artist to consider those poor people, specially kids in Africa where some of us enjoy our lives in the comfort of our homes. (if anyone wishes to correct me if MJ was not or was the first pop artist to think of the people in Africa, the deed of thinking about those kids, please feel free to do so, thanks!) Let us be thankful that with MJ around, a lot of artists are making their way to stardom because of MJ’s influence and some of us enjoy their music a lot. With the changes MJ made to himself, let him be.. we have no control over the likes of a person, but in reality, why such a change when you’ve got an awesome voice and you’ve got the moves?.. but for me, all I can see is someone who brings joy to many.

I don’t even know why despite the accusations, bad mouthing & name calling, I still embrace this great entertainer. He’s touched my life and my heart for so many reasons, for so many times. I don’t know why do I have this feeling that he has a powerful music - listening to his music makes me happy, groovy and sometimes emotional. Unlike any other artists on my MP3, when I hear their music, it’s just like any other ordinary feeling.

Michael’s music tells us to try changing ourselves first if we would want to change the world. He had thought of the world in his songs and through it, he wanted to help change the world; he wanted to be there for those children in Africa, he wanted to stop the war between nations and he thought about equality. Have we pondered about what’s next for the world with all the torture it’s suffering from humanity - water and air pollutions, chemicals threatening the environment, no more tree planting…

I hope all of us would not only sing MJ’s songs but as we sing to it, let us be aware of what the message tells us…

In our darkest hour
In my deepest despair
Will you still care
Will you be there
In my trials
And my tribulations
Through our doubts
And frustrations

In my turbulence
Through my fear
And my confessions
In my anguish and my pain
Through my joy and my sorrow
In the promise
Of another tomorrow
I’ll never let you part
For you’re always in my heart
– Will You Be There (Michael Jackson)

kumain ng prutas

Prutas or Fruits.
