Discovery Channel - Lost Tapes: Monster of Monterey

July 29, 2009

Watched again Discovery Channel’s Lost Tapes. Last night’s story was about a 26-year old journalist, Sharon Novak, lost in her expedition through the bay of Monterey.

I’ve seen the 30-minute video. It’s about a sea monster or a marine dinosaur (Plesiosaur) still under water. Sailing Monterey Bay, Sharon Novak had 4 video cams attached on her boat and one video cam attached with her to make video records of her sailing. While sailing, she heard an emergency call from her radio “mayday! mayday! …” too bad I didn’t clearly heard that but as what I’ve heard from the emergency call, the caller said “this is an emergency, there is something in the water …”. Sharon asked for the caller’s location and she wrote it in a paper. She called for help but no one answered her. Since there’s no answer from the station, it’s gonna be her responsibility to attend to the emergency call as coast guard. Upon approaching the location of the caller, she had her camera ready. While approaching the boat, there was no one in it, but the boat’s motor is still running. She was shocked to see that the boat has blood stains on the sides of it. She did not checked the bloody boat and decided to leave for her own safety. While preparing her sails, the rollers got stucked and as she attempted to fix it, something tipped the boat and knocked her down into the water. With her camera, it is obvious that she is struggling to climb back to the boat. So she tried swimming to the front of the boat but she was only getting farther from it. The harder she tries to swim back to the boat, the scarier it is to see her getting far away from her boat…

On my opinion, whatever pulled her down to the abyss, it’s not a shark. Sharks go wild instantly upon seeing or catching their prey. You can actually see it if it’s a shark. But if you review the video, look closely on the lower left corner of the screen and you will see the silhouette of a long-necked creature twice, like it’s slowly going around her…

Watch the cut from the video click here

Did she just swam away and was just faking?…. or was she really pulled down into the abyss?….

I’ve watched that Video too. My mom and I were both shocked when she got farther from the boat.. we saw in the Tv. A black Shadow it was like a snake but it wasn’t. I think it was going to eat her.

@Luanna
Thanx for droppin’ by..Yeah.. I saw that silhouette-like snake image too, I even thought it’s gonna show up.. it’s scary isn’t it?.. I was scared while watching and kept sayin’ “woah, where she’d gone?!..she disappeared..she disappeared…!!”
but I just have some questions running in my mind.. if she’s been there for three (?) months, why is her skin still fair?… her hair looks fine.. the currency of the water isn’t that strong for her to not to be able to swim forward…? unless something really pulls her downward,,,
well, truth or whatever cucumber.. it is scary..

@Zack
I am so sorry..I have been looking for the best Monster of Monterey clip that I just watched last week but I really can’t find it anymore even on my computer’s history and library.. it seemed lost, I looked for that clip to replace the clip that I’ve linked in this article..but when I’m trying to find it for you and to replace the one in here, it seemed lost.. again, I’m sorry.. the clip is not a 30-minute video but it has text in it that indicated where in the water the “monster” was seen…
